This is our first show back for 2011, we wanted a fitting way to start the new year. New directions? new projects? new ideas? In Second Life many people are starting to feel optimistic, after a few years where it really looked like it was all going to hell in a prim basket!

Media in SL is changing, from what was once, real life journalists in-bedding themselves in second Life and reporting on it, to what it is primarily now, Second Life residents, most with no background in media at all, taking control of it, and publishing their own news from within. Far from shrinking in Second Life, Media, in all forms, Machinima, Machinima TV, Blogs, Prim based and online Magazines, Radio, Podcasting is more prolific than it ever has been, but mainly from Second Life residents, not from real world media stallwarts who from about late 2008 started to pull out of Second Life. Wiz Nordberg is the CEO of Treet.tv our Broadcaster, and partner. He and Treet.tv started Television Media in Second Life, we ask him for his observations, what he sees as being necessary to grow this industry in Second Life and where to now?
Pete Mroz is the very popular singer Musician in Second Life called Pilgrim Swashbuckler. Pete is a musician that has featured on several of our TV shows, and he remains a dear favorite of mine, this guy has more talent in his little toe than most would-be musicians have in their wildest dreams! Pete has a goal, he has a cunning plan! to get his 3rd album made, he has a hot producer, but right now, no financial ability to get the Album made that he dreams of. After a set-back in November he is back on track with the Pete Mroz Project and is raising interest and finance through the KickStart Program. Its a great story, and one I’ll be watching very closely! this guy absolutely deserves to be heard!
Pathfinder Lester is John Lester in real life, and was, up until March last year, Pathfinder Linden a Linden Lab employee who’s position was Evangelist, Market Development, with a particular interest in the Education Sector of Second Life. But along with many other Linden Lab employees early this March, he was “let go” Happily now he is now ensconced in Open Sim at Reaction Grid as Director of Community Development. Pathfinder worked at Linden Lab for over five years, and has been involved in Virtual Worlds for 20! This weeks show, we are going to chat about his thoughts on Linden Lab since he left, what he thinks about the appointment of Rod Humble as the new CEO of Linden Lab, and what changes he feels needs to be priority for Linden Lab now, to start an upswing in interest again in Second Life. Pathfinder will be candid in this interview, I don’t imagine he will hold back!
